Read about the carbon targets and the measures we have taken to reduce our carbon footprint.
Van Lanschot Kempen’s environmental management isn’t just geared towards improving processes and systems, but also seeks to change the awareness and behaviour of individual employees. In the past decade, much has been achieved on both points. To ensure that we continue to focus on what matters most, in 2022 we quantified a comprehensive carbon footprint in keeping with the WBCSD Greenhouse Gas Protocol, see the 2022 Sustainability Supplement, page 14.
Our carbon footprint shows up areas of significant emissions and helps us to identify carbon reduction measures. We made a clear contribution towards a carbon neutral economy in the 2011-2022 period, with an achieved carbon reduction of 63%. At Van Lanschot Kempen, the biggest causes of carbon emissions are lease cars, heating and business air travel.
We aim to cut our carbon emissions per FTE by an average 7% a year in the 2022-2050 period. To achieve this carbon reduction we are committed to using renewable energy sources only. Further details on the carbon reduction targets and the measures adopted, can be found in the document below.
